Erste Bank and OMV assign 30 scholarships for the Executive MBA program of the WU Executive Academy in Romania
Starting on December 14, 2006, the Executive MBA - flagship program of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration takes place also in Romania, besides Vienna. OMV AG and Erste Bank finance together 30 scholarships for Romanian applicants.
30 high potential Romanians to receive top training
From August 22 until September 22, 2006, Romanian high potentials with at least 5 years of work experience can apply for an Executive MBA scholarship. The program will start in December 2006 in Bucharest and will run for 14 months. Participants will attend classes in block modules of 4 days per month, as well as a study trip to the USA. The part-time program is in English and is characterised by high degree quality standards and solid instructor content. The participants benefit from practical scientific contents as well as from internationally renowned faculty.
The Executive MBA program holds top positions in international MBA rankings. The AACSB and FIBAA accredited program ranks at place 1 in FAZ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) regarding student satisfaction among part-time MBAs in German speaking countries and is ranked among the 50 best MBA programs world-wide by the German Handelsblatt. Corporate Social Responsibility Applied
By means of this initiative the two sponsors set further steps towards social responsibility and sustainability in Central Eastern Europe. Through this program we support high-level personnel development in global management competence, which will strengthen the local economy on a long term basis. With the WU Executive Academy of the University of Vienna we found an excellent partner, being able to use its competence and international experience to reach this objective", said Dr. Rupert Dollinger, Head of Human Resources Erste Bank.
Demand for high-level personnel rises in Romania
Austrian enterprises are strongly represented in Romania, with OMV and Erste Bank ranking among the most important foreign investors. In December 2005, Erste Bank won the bid for the Romanian Banca Comerciala Romana, the largest domestic bank while OMV is strongly represented in Romania since 2004 with the purchase of the majority stock at the oil company Petrom. Both investors expand their business continuously and contribute considerably to the economic upswing in the region. "OMV and also via its role as main shareholder of Petrom supports the development in Romania; certainly regarding economical aspects but also regarding surrounding factors such as education. Additionally to our increasing investments in training and development of Petrom employees (in 2005 around 3,5 Mio €, for 2006 even higher), we see a significant need to educate high potentials and executives especially as foreign investors want to use increasingly Romanian high-level personnel. For this reason we selected the internationally successful Executive MBA of the WU Executive Academy (Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration)", comments Dr. Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, CEO of OMV.
